Why Should the Democratic Party Control the Minority Vote?

     There is no valid reason that the Democratic Party should have such a stronghold on the minority vote. Throughout the decades it has been their own big government policies that have widened the divide in income and lifestyle from one segment of society to another. So, why then do they control such an important slice of the electorate? It is in the branding of their policies and platform, not in the execution or outcome.
     The Democtrats have succeeded in convincing a large portion of the electorate into believing that as long as they claim to be standing up for the "little man" or the "downtrodden" that it means their policies will help improve those people's lives. In the same vein, they tell conservatives that if you disagree with these policies that means you are a racist, sexist or worse. However, in practice, their policies are oppressive and demeaning to the very people that they claim to be helping. The Democtrats believe that the only way for someone of Hispanic or African-American heritage to be successful is if the government insures the success by intruding on your life and providing welfare. This thinking is as offensive as it gets. Liberals have decided to endorse economic slavery by making people completely dependent on the government for the very things they need to survive. If liberals believe that the only way a minority can survive is with government assistance and intervention, then doesn't that make them the racists?
     A sound conservative alternative to this line of thinking is that we believe anyone of any background can have unlimited success in the United States as long as they apply themselves and the over-bearing federal government stays out of their way. We know that there is no difference in the amount of potential one person has inside of them from another and that this potential comes from God, not the state. Our policies have been proven to work everywhere they have been tried and have been the only policies that allow someone to go from humble beginnings to the upper echelons of society. It is this positive agenda that we need to push and contrast to what the democrats actually believe.
      If conservatives can hammer this agenda at every opportunity, then the sky is the limit when it comes to broadening the base without sacrificing any of our core principles.
